DORITOS MOZZARELLA STICKS
(Makes 12)
INGREDIENTS
12 mozzarella string cheese
1 cup crushed Doritos Flamin' Hot Nacho chips
2 large eggs
½ cup all purpose flour
Canola oil for frying
Chopped parsley, to garnish
Marinara sauce or ranch dressing, to serve
PREPARATION
Place the Doritos in a gallon-sized plastic bag. Use your hands or a bottle to crush until fine. Pour into a wide shallow bowl.
In a separate bowl beat together the eggs
In a third bowl add in the flour
Roll the mozzarella sticks first in the flour, then in the egg mixture, and finally in the crush Doritos, pressing firmly. Place on a plate and continue with the remaining cheese sticks. To double coat, dip again in the egg, then in the crushed Doritos. Freeze for 15 minutes before frying.
Set a frying pan over medium heat, filling 1-inch high with oil. Heat to 350°F (180°C)
Working in batches, fry the mozzarella sticks until crispy and cheese begins to slightly melt, about 2-3 minutes
Place cooked sticks on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess grease.
Garnish with chopped parsley. Serve with your choice of sauce."
